The following
documents are required for a legal civil wedding in Greece.
- Bride's and Groom's passports.
- Marriage License and Registration of marriage with the authenticated
translation in Greece
Note: In case the Marriage License is not
easy to obtain, you can obtain a "Single Status" letter
for each one accompanied with an authenticated translation
in Greek. "Single Status" is a document issued from
your country's consulate and ensures that there is no problem
to get married.
- Birth Certificates for both parties and an authenticated translation
of those records in Greek.
- Divorce Certificate(s) if there are any. For this no translation
is required.
Translation into Greek and approval of the translation
can be done by the Greek Consulate of your country.
In case this is not possible, you can send us by mail verified copies of the
documentation and we will take care of the legal translation.
- You have to send us copies of all the above documents via fax twenty days
before the wedding date AT THE VERY LATEST!. In return we will send you a
Wedding date confirmation issued by the Municipality verifying that all documents
are OK.
- Do not forget to bring along all the original documents.
- The day following the Wedding Ceremony, you will get an officially
signed Marriage Certificate.
ALL THE WEDDING CHARGES (church, legal documents, etc) must be paid IN CASH
upon your arrival at each destination)
